What is home care?

According to the Canadian Home Care Association home care is defined as an integrated “array of services, provided in the home and community setting, that encompass health promotion and teaching, curative intervention, end of life care, rehabilitation, support and maintenance, social adaptation and integration, and support for the family caregiver”.

Are your caregivers trained and certified?

Yes. All caregivers are trained, and background-checked to meet New Brunswick’s home care standards.

Is home care covered by Medicare or insurance?

Some services may be covered under New Brunswick’s Extra-Mural Program or private insurance. We’ll help you explore your options.

Where does Charis Care provide services?

Most of our clients receive care in their own home; however we can provide additional care to clients in Long Term Care or Assisted living facilities, hospitals, and Adult Day Care programs.

What services do you provide?

We offer non-medical home care services including companionship, personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and transportation.

How do I know what type of care my loved one needs?

We provide a free in-home assessment to evaluate needs and create a personalized care plan.

Can I choose the caregiver?

Yes. We match caregivers based on personality and care needs. If the match isn’t right, we’ll make changes.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, and surrounding areas. Contact us to confirm availability.

What happens if a caregiver gets injured while in my home?

All employees are covered by workplace insurance, in case of an accident or injury while working in a client’s home. You don’t have to worry about covering any out of work expenses.
